O design ficou mais moderno, com linhas elegantes e agressivas ao mesmo tempo. Ganhou ainda mais tecnologia em seu interior, complementada por características funcionais e interativas, sem deixar de lado o conforto.
A Toyota explica que todos os componentes internos do motor do Prius foram renovados ou revistos de forma substancial, ganhar mais qualidade, dessa maneira estabeleceu nova marca ao atingir mais de 40% de eficiência térmica e ampla economia de combustível.
O Novo Prius começará a ser vendido no Japão no fim de 2015 e, posteriormente, chegará a outros mercados ao redor do mundo.
