A Honeywell anunciou que as divisões Aeroespace e Sistemas de Transportes passarão a atuar conjuntamente em todo o mundo, envolvendo as atividades de engenharia e de avançada tecnologia.
O objetivo é abrir novas oportunidades de negócios e contribuir com a indústria automobilística, que dependerá cada vez mais da turboalimentação, para dar aos motores dos veículos padrões ideais de preservação ambiental. De acordo com Tim Mahoney, presidente e CEO da Honeywell Aerospace, atualmente, cerca de um terço de todos os veículos produzidos do mundo usam motores turboalimentados.
Já Terrence Hahn, presidente e CEO da Honeywell Transportation Systems, prevê que o trabalho conjunto com a divisão Aerospace proporcionará benefícios para o futuro da turboalimentação de motores, especialmente em termos de materiais resistentes a altas temperaturas e recursos de aerodinâmica para atender ao mercado em economia de combustível, redução de emissões e, ao mesmo tempo, com crescente nível de performance e dirigibilidade para os veículos.
