O Brasil foi último país a deixar de fabricar a Kombi, em dezembro de 2013. Lançada na Alemanha em 1959, a Kombi foi uma ideia do holandês Ben Pon, seu nome quer dizer “veículo combinado” (do alemão Kombinationsfahrzeug) e foi construída sobre a base do Volkswagen sedã, o Fusca, usando inclusive sua motorização refrigerada a ar. Fabricada ininterruptamente no Brasil entre 1957 e 2013, foi líder entre os utilitários de entrada durante seis décadas.
