Ontem (1/02), a fábrica da PSA Peugeot Citroën comemorou 15 anos de atividades no Brasil, depois de passar por muitas evoluções e produzir modelos das marcas Peugeot e Citroen. Fundado em 2001, o Polo Industrial Brasil (PIBR), em Porto Real, no Estado do Rio de Janeiro, começou produzindo os modelos Peugeot 206 e o Citroën Xsara Picasso.
Fábrica nacional da PSA Peugeot Citroën comemora 15 anos de atividades
Em constante investimento, a fábrica ganhou no ano passado um aporte de R$ 550 milhões para produção dos modelos Peugeot 2008 e Novo Citroën AIRCROSS, desenvolvidos Latin America Tech Center, um dos Centros Mundiais de Pesquisa, Desenvolvimento e Design do Grupo PSA com sede no Brasil. Adicionalmente, também em 2015, a PSA iniciou oficialmente as operações do seu Laboratório de Emissões Veiculares, com um investimento total de quase R$ 30 milhões.
Nestes 15 anos de operação, a planta já fabricou mais de 1,3 milhão de veículos e 1,8 milhão de motores e atualmente produz os modelos Peugeot 208 e 2008 e os Citroën C3 e AIRCROSS.
