A nova fábrica da TMD Friction do Brasil, que fabrica os produtos da marca Cobreq, já está com 95% de sua construção pronta. Localizada na cidade de Salto, interior de São Paulo, contou com o investimento de R$ 142 milhões, o maior feito pelo grupo Nisshinbo em outro continente).
A inauguração oficial será em outubro de 2017 o no momento está sendo concluída a fase de transferência das linhas de produção de Indaiatuba, onde está instalada a fábrica hoje, para Salto, distantes 15 km uma cidade da outra.
De Indaiatuba, onde opera desde 1975, a necessidade de expansão fez a TMD Friction trocar seus atuais 82.000 m² de área total (zona urbana) e 18.000 m² de área construída por, respectivamente, 100.000 m² e 32.000 m² em construção, além da possibilidade de crescer por se tratar de um distrito industrial.
