A BorgWarner acaba de anunciar que até o final de 2015 passará a produzir em suas instalações em Itatiba? SP as correntes de sincronismo do motor. Com essa inciativa será a primeira fornecedora de autopeças no Brasil a produzir esse componente localmente para o mercado sul-americano.
Segundo a marca, as correntes de sincronismo são mais durável do que as correias, tem baixo nível de atrito e ruído, são projetadas para otimizar a eficiência do motor e economizar combustível, além de serem menos emissões de poluentes e garantir melhor desempenho. A expansão da empresa no Brasil dará suporte a um importante programa de veículos leves de uma das principais montadoras do país.
“Muitas montadoras da região estão reconhecendo as vantagens e trocando as correias pelas correntes”, explica Joe Fadool, presidente e gerente-geral da BorgWarner Morse TEC. A expectativa do executivo é de que a demanda pela corrente de sincronismo do motor em veículos leves cresça dos atuais 18% para 55% em 2019.
