Os veículos Subaru Forester são oferecidos nas seguintes versões de acabamento: Sport, equipada com motor Boxer 2.0 litros aspirado, que gera 150 cv de potência a 20,2 kgfm, e o XT Turbo, com motorização 2.0 litros turbo, capaz de gerar 240 cv a 35,7 kgfm. Os dois modelos são equipados com câmbio automático Lineartronic, com possibilidade de troca manual de marchas no volante (paddle shifts), além de tração nas quatro rodas.
