Um modelo Novo Focus saiu da linha de montagem da Ford em Michigan, nos Estados Unidos equipado com o motor EcoBoost de número 5 milhões. Conhecido e premiado pela sua tecnologia aplicada, o Ecoboost foi apresentado aos brasileiros com o veículo Fusion Titanium 2.0, que tem potência de 234 cv.
O EcoBoost foi construído a partir do conceito de “downsizing”, com tecnologia para gerar economia de combustível e redução de emissão de poluentes. O motor é montado com blocos compactos, em diversas cilindradas, com a adição de turbo, injeção direta e comando de válvulas variável. Ou seja, conjuntos z.0 de três cilindros, 1.5, 1.6, 2.0 e 2.3 litros de quatro cilindros, além dos V6 de 2.7 e 3.5 litros.
