Desde 1959 no Brasil, a NGK, fabricante de velas de ignição, tem a tradição de apoiar e investir em programas de incentivo à população do Alto Tiête, e recentemente passou a apoiar o time masculino de basquete de Mogi das Cruzes, na semifinal da Liga Sul-Americana de Clubes de 2014.
Entre 11 e 13 de novembro, a equipe mogiana enfrenta em casa os times Paschoalloto/Bauru, UniCEUB/Brasília e o uruguaio Comunikt. O vencedor garante a sua vaga na Liga das Américas na temporada 2014/2015, que leva o seu campeão à final da Copa Intercontinental, com o vencedor da Euroleague.
