A unidade Automotive Lighting, do grupo Magneti Marelli, localizada em Contagem (MG), comemora a marca de 32 milhões de faróis produzidos entre 2009 e 2013, o que representa uma expansão de 23% no período, e de expressivos 91% em relação ao quinquênio anterior.
Como uma das principais fornecedoras de faróis e lanternas para a indústria automobilística, a empresa detém mais de 30% de market share no mercado de equipamento original no Mercosul, sendo que quase 40 modelos, entre carros e caminhões, das principais montadoras instaladas no continente são equipados com faróis e lanternas Magneti Marelli, como, por exemplo, os faróis Full LED do Audi R8.
Atualmente a área de P&D da unidade está trabalhando no desenvolvimento de faróis que utilizam tecnologia Laser.
